Good News - Elementary
I Will Tell Everyone About Jesus
This Week’s Bible Verse: “But the believers who were scattered preached the Good News about Jesus wherever they went.” Acts 8:4
This Week’s EXCLUSIVE: The Great Commission and Ascension
Matthew 28:18-20 (Commission) Acts 1;6-9 (Ascension)
Family Activity:
Set buckets or cups in a race course around your house or apartment. Use as many cups as you have members in your family. Give family members a piece of paper and have them write out Acts 8:4 “But the believers who were scattered preached the Good News about Jesus wherever they went.” Cut up each copy of the verse into the same number of pieces as you have family members. Give each person all the pieces of one section of the verse. For example, one would have all the pieces with the beginning of the verse and one would have the end, etc. Race against the clock to put one piece of paper in each cup or bucket. Congratulate whoever is the fastest. Discuss that all of the cups now have the complete Bible Verse in them. Ask what would have happened if one of them had decided to not play and do his or her part of the race. None of the cups would have the complete verse. In this game it took all of us working together to take the message to all the places it needed to go. In life we need to all work together and do our part to take God’s message everywhere it needs to go. Make sure that you are doing your part of spreading God’s message by inviting your friends to church and telling them about the Good News of Jesus.

Main Point: I Will Tell Others About Jesus!
Bible Story: The Great Commission - Matthew 28:16-20, Mark 16:15-19, Acts 1:8 (NLT)
Bible Verse: “For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 (NLT)
Family Activity - How Was Your Day?
At the dinner table, take turns telling about something that happened that day. Your kids will probably tell you about an event. Use that event to lead them into telling you more about the event. Your conversation might sound like this:
What did you do today?
I colored.
You colored today - what did you color?
I colored a tree.
What color did you color the tree?
I colored the tree green.
After that, tell your family it’s good to tell people about things that happen in our lives, but it’s very important to tell people about Jesus. Demonstrate telling someone about Jesus using the four points below. After you have told the story of Jesus, have the rest of the family take turns telling Jesus’ story.
• Jesus is God’s Son.
• He came to show us that He loves us.
• He took the punishment for our sins by dying on the cross.
• He fulfilled His promise and is now alive!
Explain to your kids that just like when people ask about our day, and we tell them what happened, when people ask about Jesus, we can tell them what we have learned. Pray together and ask God to give you opportunities to tell others about Him.
