This Week In New LifeKids

Good News – Elementary

I Will See Answers When I have Doubts

This Week’s Bible Verse: Then Jesus told him, ‘You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.’ John 20:29 (NLT)

This Week’s EXCLUSIVE: Thomas experiences doubt John 20:19-29

Family Activity:
Go to the library as a family. Bring along some trivia cards from a board game you own or some questions you make up. Divide your family into teams. Make sure a parent or older sibling is on each team to help younger family members. Also, for younger children write questions they can easily find the answers to. Examples are: What color is a Lion? What kinds of trees have needles instead of leaves? Where do anteaters live? What color is Elmo’s fur? Shuffle the cards and give each team a question. Have the teams race to find the answers to the questions. It is not enough to already know the answer. Each team needs to find a photo, book, magazine, or article that answers the question. The team that finds their source and shows it to the other team first wins. Remember to observe the library rules! Don’t run or yell as you race. Play as many rounds as you have time for. Congratulate the winning team and talk about the different sources you used to answer questions. Just like the library has many sources to answer our doubts about many subjects, we have many sources to answer our doubts and questions about God. Remind your children that they can come to you for answers to their doubts and you can all go to God, the Bible, and your pastors with doubts as well.

Good News Jr. Pre-K & Toddlers

Main Point: Jesus Is Alive

Bible Story: Jesus appears to Mary, the disciples, and then to Thomas. John 20:11-29 (NLT)

Bible Verse: “For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 (NLT)

Family Activity - Plant A Seed

Materials Needed: potting soil, seeds or beans, and cups.
Gather your family and ask them to help you plant some seeds. As you are planting the seeds in the cups, talk about how Jesus died and was buried just like our seeds are
buried in this cup. But three days later, Jesus came back to life. Tell your family that in a little while the seed you buried in the cup is going to sprout or come alive. You will see the plants growing out of the soil. Remind them that each time they see the living plant, they can remember that Jesus is also alive!

See you next week in NewLife Kids!!
