Happy Easter

This Week in NewLife Kids

Good News - Elementary

I Can Believe What Jesus Says

This Week’s Bible Verse: “For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 (NLT)

This Week’s EXCLUSIVE: The crucifixion, death, burial, resurrection, and empty tomb - John 19, Matthew 28:1-10

Family Activity:
Hide candy around the house in several spots. Gather your family and tell them that you have hidden the candy. Tell them where the first hiding place is. Then tell them to go get the candy and come back and you will tell them the next place. After the first two hiding places, start to tell them places to look where there is no candy. Do this about every other time. Eventually, they will become less enthusiastic about running to look for the candy as they realize you are not always telling the truth. After they have found all the candy, ask your family if they could believe what you said. Ask your family if they would have been able to believe you if you had always done what you said you would do. Remind your family that Jesus always did everything that He said He would do, including coming back from the dead. Jesus said that He would die, that He would come back to life, and that He would meet His disciples afterward. Because Jesus did everything He said, we can trust that He will do everything that He has promised us.

Good News Jr. Pre-K & Toddlers

Main Point: Jesus Loves Me!

Bible Story: The crucifixion and resurrection - Matthew 27:11 - 28:10

Bible Verse: “For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 (NLT)

Family Activity

Materials Needed: Black, red, white, yellow, and green paper and a stapler.

Sit down together as a family and make a Wordless Book. Give each person a set of the papers and get them in same order as the colors listed below. Staple the papers together at the top of the pages. Then, talk about what each color means. You can also look up the verse for each color in the Bible.

BLACK – Sin - Everyone has sinned or done bad things. (Romans 3:23)

RED – Blood - Jesus died on the cross for our sins. (1 John 1:7)

WHITE – Pure - Because Jesus took the punishment for our since, we are clean again. (Psalm 51:7)

YELLOW – Heaven - When we believe that Jesus did these things for us, we can live with Him in Heaven someday. (John 14:2)

GREEN – Grow - Jesus wants us to keep learning more about Him by reading the Bible and coming to church. (2 Peter 3:18)

Explain to your children that great leaders know all these things about Jesus. And, because of these things, they know that Jesus loves them! Tell your family members that they can use the books to tell others that Jesus loves them, too!

Have a wonderful week and we'll see you in NewLife Kids next Sunday!!
