Tell your children about a time when you had to make a decision to be loyal to someone in your life.

Loyalty

Joseph had a difficult decision to make. Did he stand by Mary and take her as his wife or walk away? Joseph was loyal to Mary despite his suspicions. He was also loyal to God by obeying Him and raising Jesus as his son. We need to be loyal to those people in our lives who are loyal to God as well. This week, make a chart with your children. Write down the family members, friends, and anyone else they feel loyal to. Next, write down why they feel loyal to each of those people. Put a star or a special marker by the people on the chart who are loyal to God. Discuss with your children the importance of being loyal to those who make right choices and are loyal to God.
