This Week in NewLife Kids

Allaso Ranch - Elementary

WHAT WAS THE MAIN POINT? God Is The Great Teacher, So I Will Use What I Have Learned!
WHAT WAS THE BIBLE VERSE? “Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:9 (NLT)
WHAT WAS THE BIBLE STORY? Temptation of Jesus (Luke 4:1-15)
MAIN POINT ACTIVITY: Write the Main Point on a piece of paper. Say the Main Point together as a family. Repeat it but cover up one word of the Main Point. Continue this process until family members can say the Main Point with all the words covered up.

READ THE BIBLE STORY TOGETHER: Temptation of Jesus (Luke 4:1-15)
Tell your children about something that happened to you in your past. What lesson did you learn from it? How did it help you later?

LIFE JOURNAL:
Jesus spent time in the wilderness. When He was tempted, He used what He had learned to
help Him. We can use what we have learned from God in the past to help us and to prepare for the future. Have family members draw a large heart on a piece of paper. Using their hearts, have family members draw a map of their lives up to now. They should include important events, life-changing moments, and things that are important to them. By each event, family members should write something they learned from God at that time, or how something they learned from God helped them through that time. When each heart map is fi nished, have family members share their hearts with the family. Explain that we should use what we learn from God to help us in our lives. Use the things you learn by doing what is right and continuing to grow more like Jesus!

Allaso Ranch - Pre-K and Toddlers

Main Point: God Made Me To Pray!
Bible Story: Persistent Widow - Luke 18:1-8
Bible Verse: “When God created human beings, he made them to be like himself.” Genesis 5:1b (NLT)

Family Activity
Today, your child learned about praying without giving up. Jesus told his disciples a story about a widow asking a judge over and over for help. Eventually, the judge helped the widow because she asked so many times.

This week, start a prayer paper with your children. Ask them one thing they would like to pray to God for, and write it down. Every night, pray with your children putting special emphasis on their request on the prayer paper. Encourage them to pray continually for the things on their heart.

We don’t always get everything we ask for, but God will do what is best for us when we ask for His help. God will surely help us if we ask Him. We need to pray without giving up, just as the widow continued to
ask the judge for help without giving up.

NEXT WEEK - Be here as we learn how to power up. We begin a new series next Sunday. See you at NewLife!!
