WHAT WAS THE BIBLE VERSE? “Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God. So anyone who rebels against authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and they will be punished.” Romans 13:1-2 (NLT)
WHAT WAS THE BIBLE STORY? Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32)
MAIN POINT ACTIVITY: Have one person be the leader. Every time the leader says “Go,” family members should write the Main Point down as many times as possible. When the leader says “Stop,” family members should stop writing. Continue doing this until each person has a turn at being the leader.
READ THE BIBLE STORY TOGETHER: Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32)
Tell your children about a time when you didn’t follow orders of a person in authority. What happened?
MOTHER MAY I?:
The son in the story, thought that life would be better if he left his father’s house, but living by his own rules brought him nothing but
trouble. Play a game of “Mother May I?” with your family. Arrange ahead of time to have one member of the family keep breaking the rules of the game on purpose. Keep sending the rule breaker back to the beginning, over an over, until someone else wins. Discuss with your family how it was better to follow authority, because you had a chance to win the game. If you didn’t follow authority, you could never have a chance of winning. Our lives will always turn out better when we follow the authorities that God has placed in our lives.

Main Point: God Made Me To Praise!
Bible Story: David bringing the ark to Jerusalem and his song of praise - 1 Chronicles 15:16-16:36
Bible Verse:<i> “When God created human beings, he made them to be like himself.” Genesis 5:1b (NLT)
Family Activity
David and the people praised God with instruments, singing, shouting, and offerings. They gave their best as an act of worship to God. God is worthy of our worship, and we can praise Him in different ways. Because of who God is and everything He has done, we know that He is the only one worthy of our praise.
Plan a special family time of worship one night this week. Have family members come to the night ready to share something as an act of worship. They could play an instrument or sing a special song. They could write a special poem and read it during the worship time. Whatever each family member chooses to do, they should each do it to the best of their ability. Help your children make their own act for worship. They could share a special piece of artwork that they created or clap while the family sings together. Encourage your children to praise God through prayer, reading their Bibles, singing, telling others about Him, and always giving their very best.
