Allaso Ranch - Elementary
WHAT WAS THE MAIN POINT?
God Is My Friend, So I Will Spend Time With Him!
WHAT WAS THE BIBLE VERSE? “Come close to God, and God will come close to you.” James 4:8a (NLT)
WHAT WAS THE BIBLE STORY?
David in the Wilderness (1 Samuel 19-20; Psalm 57:5, 6, and 7; Psalm 59:16-17; Psalm 63:3-8)
MAIN POINT ACTIVITY: Write each word of the Main Point on an index card. As a family, take turns timing each other to see who can put the cards in order the fastest.
READ THE BIBLE STORY TOGETHER:
David in the Wilderness (1 Samuel 19-20; Psalm 57:5, 6, and 7; Psalm 59:16-17; Psalm 63:3-8)
Tell your children what you do to spend time with God every day.
QUIET TIME:
David fled to the wilderness. While he was there, David worshiped God and wrote many of the Psalms. He spent time worshiping God regularly. God wants to spend time with us individually. He is our refuge and wants you to rest in Him. You should have a Bible with you every day so you can spend time reading it and praying. Make a chart of the days of the week. Each time you spend time reading your Bible and praying, mark an X on that day. At the end of the week, discuss with your children how reading the Bible and praying to God daily made them feel. Encourage your children to continue spending time daily reading God’s Word and praying to Him.

Main Point: God Made Me To Obey!
Bible Story: Josiah - 2 Kings 22 & 23
Bible Verse: “When God created human beings, he made them to be like himself.” Genesis 5:1b (NLT)
Family Activity
This week, your child learned about obeying God and His Word. King Josiah obeyed what God wanted him to do. The Bible tells us what God wants us to do.
This week, make a list with your children of rules they need to obey. Help your children draw a picture of someone following each of those rules. Place it up somewhere in your home where you can see it throughout the week. When you see your children obeying the rules, put a check mark next to that rule. Remind your children throughout the week that it’s important to obey the rules at home as well as
God’s rules.
At the end of the week, have an obedience party celebrating how well your children obeyed. Encourage your children to obey God’s rules just as they obeyed your rules this week. We should obey the things God tells us in the Bible just like King Josiah obeyed God’s rules.
See you next Sunday as we wind up our Allaso Ranch Series.
