Power UP - Elementary
Main Point: I Will Persevere!
Write the Main Point on a sheet of paper in large handwriting. Take turns as a family rewriting the Main Point, getting smaller and smaller each time you write it, until you can’t write it any smaller.
Bible Verse: “Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness.” 1 Timothy 6:11b (NLT)
Bible Story: Josiah’s cleansing of Judah. (2 Kings 22 & 23)
Family Activity: Keep Going
King Josiah had a job to do and didn’t give up until it was finished. He had perseverance. God wants you to have perseverance too. Make a chart of the days of the week for each family member. On the chart, write down four things you want to do each day of the week. Choose at least two items from this list: pray for friends, read the Bible, exercise. Each time you spend time doing the three things you chose, mark an X on that day. At the end of the week, discuss with your children how good it felt to check off the things they said they would do. Encourage your children to continue having perseverance each and every day.

Main Point: I Will Tell The Truth!
Bible Story: Peter Denies Jesus (Luke 22:54-62)
Bible Verse: “Do what is right and good in the Lord’s sight, so all will go well with you.” Deuteronomy 6:18a (NLT)
Family Activity Tell The Truth Ball Pass
When Jesus was taken into custody, Peter was asked if he knew Him. Peter chose not to tell the truth and lied. God wants us to always tell the truth.
Sit in a circle as a family and play a game of Tell the Truth. Beginning with one family member, have him or her roll the ball to someone else in the circle. Each time the ball is rolled to you, share one truthful fact with your family. For instance, you might say your favorite color or ice cream flavor. After some time has gone by, change the rules to have the person who rolls the ball say a truthful statement about the family member who receives the ball. Remind your children that God always wants us to tell the truth. Peter lied and denied Jesus. We want to tell the truth at all times!
