This week in NewLife Kids

Upsidedown Town

Bible Verse: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding."  Proverbs 3:5 (NLT)
Bible Story:
The Parable of the Sower and the Four Soils. Mark 4:1-20

Through The HoopHang a hula hoop from a tree or garage door or even in a doorway inside your house. Hang it so that the top of the hula hoop is approximately at your shoulders. Get a ball that your child can throw and you can catch. A foam ball, a football, a baseball, or any other kind of ball will work. Have your family stand on the other side of the hoop from you. Have them take turns trying to throw the ball to you through the hoop. Talk about how, if the ball comes through the hoop, it should be easy for you to catch because it is close to you. If the ball doesn’t go through the hoop, it is much harder for you to catch. Tell your family that when they throw through the hoop, they are doing their best to throw you the ball. Remind your family that God wants us to keep telling the people around us about Jesus in the best way that we can. That is like putting the ball through the hoop. When we tell people about Jesus, not everyone will "catch it." God doesn’t expect us to make people follow Jesus, but He does expect us to do our best to tell them about Jesus. Remind your family that one of the best ways to put the ball through the hoop in telling people about Jesus is to invite them to church. As a family think of some people that you could invite to church and make a plan to do it.

Make up hand motions to help you and your child remember the main point:  Give Your Best and Let God Do the Rest.  Have each member of the family say one word of the main point at a time until together you have reapeated the whole main point five times.

See you next Sunday!!
