The Great Race - Elementary
Main Point: I Will Keep On Obeying God!
Bible Verse: “If you obey my decrees and my regulations, you will find life through them. I am the LORD.” Leviticus 18:5 (NLT)
Bible Story: The wall of Jerusalem is completed and God’s laws are read. (Nehemiah 8, 9:1-4, 10)
Main Point Review Activity:
Play a game of “Mother, May I” as a family. Each time family members are given an instruction, they should say the Main Point, instead of “Mother, May I,” before they obey and do the instruction given.
Try This!
Nehemiah and the Jewish people heard the book of law and immediately began obeying God’s laws.
• There are rules and people we need to obey too. We need to obey what God tells us to do in the bible.
• We need to obey our parents and teachers.
• This week, take a trip to a nearby playground or park.
• Let all family members take turns being the leader and making up the rules.
• Play a game of “Follow the Leader” with your family.
• When someone gets tired and wants to stop, remind him or her that we need to keep on obeying!
The Great Race Jr. - Pre-K & Toddlers
Main Point: I Will Share My Things!
Bible Story: Jonathan shares with David
(1 Samuel 18:1- 4)
Bible Verse: “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good.” Galatians 6:9a (NLT)
Family Activity - Share My Things
Make a plan as a family to share something with someone else. You can either choose a family to share with or each person can choose a friend to share with. Work together on the plan, and then carry it out together. Once you have shared something, ask the following questions:
• How did it make you feel to share something with someone else?
• What else can you share with others?
• Who can you share with?
Make plans to continue sharing your things with others and make it a way of life for your family. Wrap up conversation by praying and asking God to give you opportunities to share your things with others.
***Reminder***
