Main Point: I Will Say Kind Words!
Bible Story: Christmas through the eyes of Elizabeth .
(Luke 1:39 -56)
Bible Verse: “Furthermore, we have seen with our own eyes
and now testify that the Father sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.” 1
John 4:14 (NLT)
Family Activity:
Ask your children to
share with you a time when they felt like someone was speaking unkindly to
them.
While Mary was
facing a very difficult time, Elizabeth was there to encourage her. As a family,
work together this week to use kind words and encourage each other. When you
hear your children using good words, make sure to praise them and tell them
what a good job they are doing. Play the opposite game as a family. Sit in a
circle together. One person should take a turn and say something that is not
kind or encouraging. Another person should say something opposite of what was
said that would be encouraging. For example, you might say, “I don’t believe
you can ride your bike well.” Then have your child say something encouraging
such as, “I think you are a great bike rider!” Encourage your children to think
before they speak and work to be an encourager to others.
See you next Sunday!!
