This Week in NewLife Kids

Main Point: By Showing Love, I’ll Honor God Above!
Play Main Point elimination. Play some music and randomly stop it, like in musical chairs. After the music stops, the last person to say the Main Point with the motions is eliminated. Last person to be eliminated is the winner.

Bible Story: The separation of the sheep and the goats. Matthew 25:31-46

Bible Verse:
"Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples." John 13:35 (NLT)

The Least Of These

Read Matthew 25:37-40 with your family. Jesus calls “the least of these” His brothers and sisters and says that if we do things to help them that it is like doing things to help Jesus. Discuss people in your lives that may be considered “the least of these.” This could be anyone around you who has a need that you can meet. It could be an elderly neighbor who needs help with yard work, or a child at school who needs a friend. As a family, plan a way to help the people you discuss. Then work hard to carry it out.

This Week in NewLife Kids

Main Point: Choose To Use What God Gives To You!
Make up hand motions to help you and your child remember the Main Point.  See which member of your family can say the Main Point the fastest and still be able to be understood.

Bible Story: The Parable of the Loaned Money. Matthew 25:14-30

   Bible Verse:
"To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away." Matthew 25:29(NLT)
Use It Well

Give each member of your family a different amount of money. Challenge them to use the money to do something for someone else and invite them to church or tell them about God. They could send someone a greeting card, donate money to a charity, take someone to lunch, buy a gift for someone when they are not expecting one, give the money to the church, or two or more of them could put the money together to do something larger. Give them a deadline of when they have to have used the money and have a special report from each family member on what they did with the money and what happened. Remind your family that God gives us all kinds of gifts that He expects us to use wisely to help tell others about Him.

This Week in NewLife Kids

Main Point: I Should Be Like the Wise People I See!
Make up hand motions to help you and your child remember the Main Point.  Say the Main Point while doing somersaults.

Bible Story: The Ten Bridesmaids. Matthew 25:1-12

Memory Verse: "Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble."     Proverbs 13:20 (NLT)
I Want To Be Like...

Read the Bible Story from Matthew 25:1-12 with your family. Point out that the five foolish bridesmaids should have followed the example of the wise bridesmaids. Ask your family to think of wise people in your life. They should be people who go to church and follow God. Some suggestions might be grandparents, uncles, the parents of friends at church, the pastor, or other church workers. Make a list of similarities of these wise people. Some of them might be they go to church, they pray every day, they study the Bible, they obey God, they help others, they treat others with love, and they tell others about Jesus. Have each family member put these wise qualities on a piece of paper and put it where they will see it each day. Remind your family to look around you for people with these qualities and try to follow their good example.

This Week in NewLife Kids

Main Point: Continually Pray Every Day Without Delay!

Make up hand motions to help you and your child remember the Main Point. Say the Main Point while standing on your head.

Bible Story: The Parable of the Persistent Widow Luke 18:1-8

Pray Like The Wind

Give each member of your family a pinwheel, or have each person make a pinwheel. Have everyone blow slowly on the pinwheel to keep it moving. Talk to your family about how windmills have the power to pump water, or to produce electricity, but only when the wind is blowing them. Remind your family that the Bible Verse this week tells us to never stop praying. Remind them that praying to God is like the pinwheel. Prayer has the power to change a lot of things, but only when we do it consistently.
