Professor Playtime's Christmas Shop of Wonders -
Elementary
Lesson Goal: The children will learn that the reason Jesus
was born was so He could take the punishment for our sins so we could be
forgiven.
Main Point: Jesus Is The Greatest Gift!
Bible Story: Jesus’ gift to us is Salvation. God’s promise
of Salvation and the Gospel story (Various parts of the Gospels)
Bible Verse: “For God loved the world so much that he gave
his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but
have eternal life.” John 3:16 (NLT)
Family Activity:
Read The Bible Story Together: (Luke chapters
2, 23, and 24.)
Ask your children
to explain to you why Jesus was born and died on the cross.
Jesus Saves
Jesus didn’t just
come to make people happy, or so that we could sing songs and give gifts. Jesus
came to give us the gift of salvation. To do that, He had to die on the cross
for our sins. This week, work with your children to think up different times
they could be sharing with others the good news of Jesus Christ. Ask them if
they have any friends who they want to know about Jesus’ gift of forgiveness.
Make a calendar of the week and write one friend’s name on each day. Commit to
praying as a family for that person to accept Jesus gift.

This Week in NewLife Kids
Professor Playtime's Christmas Shop of Wonders –
Elementary
Lesson Goal: The children will learn that we should honor
Jesus by always giving our best.
Main Point: I Will Honor Jesus By Giving My Best!
Bible Story: Christmas through the eyes of the Wise Men.
(Matthew 2:1–18)
Bible Verse: “Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the
best part of everything you produce.” Proverbs 3:9 (NLT)
Family Activity:
Read The Bible Story Together: Wise Men (Matthew 2:1-18)
Ask your children
about a time when they didn’t give their best to a situation. What were the
results to that situation?
Main Point: Jesus Is The Greatest Gift!
Bible Story: Jesus (birth to resurrection) (Luke 2:8 - 12)
Bible Verse: “Furthermore, we have seen with our own eyes
and now testify that the Father sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.” 1
John 4:14 (NLT)
Family Activity:
Read The Bible Story Together: Jesus (birth to
resurrection) (Luke 2:8 - 12)
Ask your children
to tell you all about Jesus – as they begin prompt them to discuss Jesus life.
My Best
The Wise Men gave
up a lot to worship Jesus. They traveled a long way and for a long time. They
brought expensive gifts with them. They even risked the anger of King Herod to
protect Jesus. They were willing to do this because they knew that Jesus was
worthy of worship. Discuss as a family what you would have done in that
situation. What is something you would be willing to sacrifice and give your
best for? Jesus came to the Earth for each of us and because He loves us very
much. So much that He gave His life on a
cross. Jesus deserves our very best and all of our worship.
See you next Sunday for our Christmas Service!!

See you next Sunday!!
Lesson Goal: The children will learn that we should focus on
Jesus instead of ourselves. Selfishness only causes problems.
Main Point: Christmas is About Jesus; It Is Not About Me!
Bible Story: Christmas through the eyes of Herod. (Matthew
2:1–18)
Bible Verse: “Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others.
Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.” Philippians 2:3 (NLT)
Family Activity:
Read The Bible Story Together: Herod (Matthew 2:1-18)
Tell your
children about a time in your life when you were prideful or wanted people to
notice you.

Main Point: I Will Share My Things!
Bible Story: Christmas through the eyes of the Wise Men. (Matthew
2:1-12)
Bible Verse: “Furthermore, we have seen with our own eyes
and now testify that the Father sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.” 1
John 4:14 (NLT)
Family Activity:
Read The Bible Story Together: Wise Men (Matthew 2:1-12)
Discuss why the wise men did not return to King Herod.
All About Jesus
God’s plans are
greater than our plans. Herod was the King of Israel and should have been glad
to hear that the Messiah was coming. The Wise Men thought at first that King
Herod would know all about Jesus. But Herod was too proud to worship Jesus. We
need to focus on and worship Jesus in all circumstances. As a family, make a
poster. On one side of the poster, make a list of ways your children make
Christmas all about them. On the other side of the poster, write down how they
could make it all about Jesus instead. For instance, they might write down “I
get presents.” Instead, the focus should be on Jesus being the greatest present
of all.
Encourage your children to remember the best
part of Christmas: Jesus!
See you next Sunday!!

Lesson Goal: The children will learn that when we wait, we
should do so patiently.
Main Point: I Will Be Patient!
Bible Story: Christmas through the eyes of Simeon. (Luke
2:25–35)
Bible Verse: “Better to be patient than powerful; better to
have self-control than to conquer a city.” Proverbs 16:32 (NLT)

Ask your children to
tell you about a time they had to wait for something. Was it hard or easy for
them to wait?
Practice Patience
It is so hard to wait
and have patience sometimes. Simeon had been promised that he would live long
enough to see the Messiah, but he was an old man. The promise was fulfilled
though when he saw Jesus. We need to have patience, too. This week, make a
monthly calendar as a family. Write down some events your family has coming up
that you are looking forward to attending. Each day, mark off the days leading
up to the events by writing
See you next Sunday!
