WHAT WAS THE MAIN POINT? God Is Our Provider, So We Should Be Grateful!
WHAT WAS THE BIBLE VERSE? “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and
thank him for all he has done.” Philippians 4:6 (NLT)
WHAT WAS THE BIBLE STORY? God Provided Manna (Exodus 16;Numbers 11)
MAIN POINT ACTIVITY: Have your family sit in a circle on the fl oor. Have family members say something God has provided for them. After each person, the whole family should say “We are grateful.” Keep going around the circle as long as you can.
READ THE BIBLE STORY TOGETHER: God Provided Manna (Exodus 16;Numbers 11)
Ask your children to make a list of five things God has provided for them.
I GOT WHAT I NEED:
God provided manna for the Israelites to eat. The Israelites were not grateful for the manna. They wanted something else even
though the manna God provided met all of their needs. God knows what we need, and He will provide it for us right when we need it. It may not be what we want, but it will be what we need. Have your children tell you of a time they wanted something, but you gave them something they needed instead. Ask them to tell you how it made them feel at the time. Maybe they wanted candy for a snack, but you gave them an apple instead. Explain to your children that we need to be grateful for everything God provides for us.

Main Point: God Made Me To Help Others!
Bible Story: Good Samaritan - Luke 10:30-37
Bible Verse: “When God created human beings, he made them to be like himself.” Genesis 5:1b (NLT)
Family Activity
Today, your child learned to be a good helper. They learned the importance of being kind and helping others when they see a need. Just as the Samaritan man helped the Jewish man in Jesus’ story, we need to help others as well.
This week, help your children take a moment to look around the house and see how they can help their family members. Help your children write down three things they can do to help around the house this week. Maybe the laundry needs to be put away or some toys need to be picked up.
Remind your children to help their family members throughout the week. Encourage your children to help whenever they find a need!

WHAT WAS THE MAIN POINT? God Is Creative, So I Can Be Creative!
WHAT WAS THE BIBLE VERSE? “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10(NLT)
WHAT WAS THE BIBLE STORY? God’s Creation (Genesis 1)
MAIN POINT ACTIVITY: Have family members take ten minutes and create their own unique ways of saying or writing the Main Point. Act it out, say it in a funny voice, or write it out and decorate the paper. After ten minutes have passed, come back together as a family and share your Main Points together.
READ THE BIBLE STORY TOGETHER:
God’s Creation (Genesis 1)
Have your children tell you all of the things they can think of that God created.
CREATION WALK:
It is amazing to think about all of the things God created! As a family, take a walk outside and point out all of the things you see that God created. Make sure to notice the different types of trees, fl owers, and birds. God is the creator of the world, and He is the source of creativity. He made you, the birds, cats, and dogs, and He didn’t just make one type of cat or dog. He made many different types.
People are made in the image of God so we know we were made to be creative, too. God wants us to use the creativity He has given us. While on your walk, have family members collect different items from nature and place them in a small bag. When you return home, create something unique using the items your family collected. You could glue them on poster board to make a wall hanging, or connect them with string to make a mobile to hang from the ceiling, or glue them together to make a sculpture. Put your unique item up somewhere in your house to remind your whole family that God designed each of you to be creative!

Main Point: God Made Me To Share!
Bible Story: Elisha and the Woman from Shunem - 2 Kings 4:8-11
Bible Verse: “When God created human beings, he made them to be like himself.” Genesis 5:1b (NLT)
Family Activity
When Elisha went to the town called Shunem, there was a woman who shared her food with him. Eventually, she and her husband even shared their home with him. She shared what they had because she knew it was what God would want her to do.
God wants you to share what you have with others, too. You might have special toys or items that you like to play with and use when you are alone, but they can be really fun when you share them with a friend too.
This week, help your child think of two or three items that he or she could share with a friend. Ask your child to think of one friend you can invite to come over to play. When that child comes over encourage your child to share his or her items with the friend. Remind your child that your family might not have a house to share with someone like the woman in Shunem did, but that we can all share what we have.

WHAT WAS THE MAIN POINT? God Is Our Guide, So We Should Follow Him Together!
WHAT WAS THE BIBLE VERSE? “For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.“ Matthew 18:20 (NLT)
WHAT WAS THE BIBLE STORY? Pillar of Cloud and Pillar of Fire (Exodus 13:17-22)
READ BIBLE THE STORY TOGETHER: Pillar of Cloud and Pillar of Fire (Exodus 13:17-22)
Ask your children to tell you of someone they look up to and follow.
MAIN POINT ACTIVITY: Play a game of Follow the Leader together as a family. Each time you change leaders, have the leader say the Main Point. The rest of the family should repeat it after the leader.
Think About:
The Israelites followed God by following the pillar of cloud and the pillar of fire. God wanted the Israelites to follow Him as a group. A compass is something we can use to guide us so that we know which direction to go. Just as a compass guides us in the woods, we need someone to guide us in our lives. Our church, other followers of Christ, and the Bible can help guide us as we walk this journey of life. Have family members share a time when their lives have been guided by someone or something. Encourage your children to look to God and His Word, the Bible, as the ultimate guide.

Main Point: God Made Me To Love!
Bible Story: Isaac & Rebekah - Genesis 24
Bible Verse for this Series: “When God created human beings, he made them to be like himself.” Genesis 5:1b (NLT)
Family Activity
God created each of us with the amazing ability to love. Abraham loved his son Isaac. He sent his servant to find a wife for Isaac. The servant loved Abraham, so he found a woman named Rebekah who could be a good wife for Isaac. Rebekah’s family loved her and agreed that she would be Isaac’s wife. Isaac loved Rebekah.
God wants us to be like each of these people and love others, too. This week, work together as a family to think of ways to show others love. You could bake cookies and share them with someone, or you could buy groceries to take to a local food bank. Help your children make a list of different ways they can show love to others. Put the list up somewhere in the house to remind your children how they can show love. Choose one of the items on the list to do with your children this week. Encourage your children to show love to everyone God places in their life.

Parent Tip
Deuteronomy 6: 5-9
5 And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. 6 And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. 7 Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. 8 Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. 9 Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. (NLT)
Parents for you 5 And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. 6 And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Are you living in God’s will for you – loving the Lord your God with all you are and committing wholeheartedly to what God’s word says??
Parents for your children 7 Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. 8 Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. 9 Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. Are you raising your children as God calls you to – talking about God and including Him in everything you do and everywhere you go??
Too often we pray and seek God for His will for our life and we overlook all God tells us in His word. God’s will for you as a parent is clear in Deuteronomy 6. We are to love God and commit wholeheartedly to all He says and then we are to pass it on to our children. We are to leave that legacy of God and His love to our children by raising them in a home where God is loved and worshiped and talk about openly and freely. Be intentional when talking to your children about God’s creation around them, His mercy to us, and His great love.
Don’t take for granite that they will learn all about God someday – take the lead role in introducing your children to YOUR God.

WHAT WAS THE MAIN POINT?God Is Love, So I Know That God Loves Me!
WHAT WAS THE BIBLE VERSE? “Yes,I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will fi nd good pastures.” John 10:9 (NLT)
WHAT WAS THE BIBLE STORY?The Lost Sheep (Luke 15:1-7)
MAIN POINT ACTIVITY: Draw a large heart on a piece of paper. Have family members write the Main Point inside the heart until the heart is completely full.
READ THE BIBLE STORY TOGETHER: The Lost Sheep (Luke 15:1-7) Tell your children about a time you got lost. What happened? Who found you or helped you find your way again?
LOST AND FOUND
When the shepherd in the story lost his sheep, he looked for it until he found it because he loved it very much. Jesus is like the shepherd in the story. We are lost in sin, but Jesus came to save us from being lost. Play a game of hide and seek with your children. Explain that they will pretend to be the lost sheep by hiding somewhere in the house. You will pretend to be the shepherd by searching for them. When you find a sheep, hug your child and say, “you were lost, but now you’re found!” Remind your children that Jesus loves us very much and that is why He came to die on the cross for our sins. Jesus did this to save us from being lost in sin.
