I Will Show Mercy To Others!
Write each word of the Main Point on an index card. As a family, take turns trying to put the cards in order under 15 seconds. If someone cannot do it after three tries, show them mercy by helping them so they can do the task in under 15 seconds.
Bible Verse: “God blesses those who are merciful, for they will be shown mercy.” Matthew 5:7 NLT
Read the Bible Story together: King Saul and the Case of the Missing Shepherd. (1 Samuel 24)
Ask family members if there’s ever been a time when someone else has been mean to them. How did they react when that happened?
Showing Mercy
Showing mercy isn’t always easy, but it is always the best way to react. When someone makes a mistake or is mean to us, we have a choice in how we react. We can try to get back and be mean in return, or we can react like David and show mercy. This means we forgive and we don’t try to hurt that person back and standing circle with your get a beach ball. Toss the ball in the air and work together to try to keep the ball up in the air. When someone misses the ball, everyone in the family has to go to their knees. The next time someone misses the ball, everyone has to lie on their backs. When someone misses the ball again, show them mercy and allow everyone in the family to stand back up. Remind your child that God wants him or her to always make the choice to show others mercy when they make mistakes.

God Made The Sun, Moon, And Stars!
Bible Story: Genesis 1: 14-19
One night with your child, go outside to look at the moon and stars, and then read the story in Genesis 1:9-13 about God creating the Sun, moon, and stars.
Activity: Up In The Air Prayer
One day this week, take your child outside several different times. Look at the sky when the Sun is rising, when it’s out all the way, when it’s setting, and when it’s gone and the moon and stars are out. Say a prayer each time you look at the sky to thank God for creating the
Sun, moon and stars.

Any child interested in baptism and taking that next step in their walk with Christ can register online. At NewLife Kids we have a questioneer that we go over with the children to make sure that they understand the step they are taking. If you have any questions please contact Debbie at debbie@newlifewired.com.

This Week in NewLife Kids
Roanoke Jones - Elementary
Lesson Goal: The children will learn that, instead of focusing on ourselves, we should focus on God and worship only Him.
Main Point: I Will Worship God And Not Myself!
Bible Story: Daniel and the case of the king's dream (Daniel 4)
Memory Verse: "The Scriptures say, "You must worship the Lord you God and serve only him." Luke 4:8b NLT
Take time this week with your child/ren to look around and see ALL God's blessings in your life: a beautiful day, a bird singing, rain, food to eat, a job to go to, school so that you can learn, etc... Then as you talk about these blessings take time to worship God with a praise song or words of praise. It's so easy to get our focus on ourselves and off of God. We must make an effort to worship God and keep our mindset on him and not ourselves.
Bible Reading This Week: Daniel 4
Roanoke Jones Jr. - Pre-K
Main Point: God Made The Land And Plants
Bible Story: Genesis 1:9-13
This week we continue our study of creation. As a family take time to look around for all the pretty flowers this spring. Maybe even take time to plant some flowers with your child and talk about how amazing it is that God made all the different flowers for us to enjoy. God is very creative with colors and shapes of the flowers and plants around us and he deserves our praise for his beautiful creations.
Still reading Genesis 1.

Accepting Help from Others
Many people know that God wants us to help others. But have you ever realized that God wants us to accept help from others, too?
That sounds pretty easy, right? Who would have a hard time saying yes if someone offered to help you clean your room? I bet no one!
So why would we need a Bible study on this? Because sometimes it's not as easy as it sounds.
...Imagine that your mom came and asked you to put the trash out in front of all your friends. What if when you went over and tried to move it you couldn't do it because it was too heavy? Would it be hard to admit to your friends that you needed help because you weren't strong enough to do it alone?
Now imagine that you're doing your homework, and you are having a hard time understanding the math assignment your teacher sent home. What if your younger brother looked at it and thought it was easy? Would it be easy for you to accept his help in tutoring you?...
Now there are some things that we're supposed to do on own own, even if they're hard (like tests!). But sometimes we have tasks that God doesn't want us to do by ourselves.
When times like these arise, I hope Namaan's story (2 Kings 5) will help you remember that God wants us to accept help. It was really hard for Namaan to accept Elisha & God's help. In fact, he almost didn't do it! But in the end he decided to follow Elisha's instructions, and God healed him!
As you go through this week remember - God sends others to help us just like he sends us to help others! So when God sends help your way, accept it - even if it's hard for you to do!
