Last Sunday we finished our Entourage Series with the Elementary Class.

• Lesson Goal: The children learned that a good friend tells others about Jesus.
• Main Point: A Good Friend Tells Others About Jesus!
• Bible Story: Philip and the Ethiopian Eunuch (Acts 8:26-40)
• Bible Verse: 2 Timothy 4:2
"Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching." (NLT)

In our Pre-K and Toddler Class we finished our Entourage Jr. Series.

• Main Point: Jesus Will Forgive Me
• Bible Story: Peter's denial of Jesus and Jesus forgiveness in the midst of Crucifixion and Resurrection (John 18-21)

I love hearing the reports from our parents about how NewLife Kids is making impressions in our children's lives. They are saying they are sorry without being prompted, they are asking to pray, and singing about Jesus from our youngest in the Toddler Class to the older kids in the Elementary class.

Today our Elementary class had our sixth session of “Entourage”, a behind-the-scenes tour of the studio lot where they’re filming “Treasure Hunter 7”, and where we’re learning (along with stories from the Bible) how to be the right kind of friend.

Once again, production assistant Julie Simpson was busy, this time riding herd on Tom Hunter and Skip Patterson (Deuce Montana and Zeke Sullivan in the movie), who were pranking Brian the boom operator, because he wore glasses! The kids learned that “A Good Friend Accepts Others” (our main point) and that we do this because Jesus has accepted us, and together we want to glorify God (Romans 15:7). Our Bible Story was on how God led Peter to accept and preach the Good News to the gentiles (Acts 10). We had a fun time worshipping (the kids really know the songs & motions now), learning, and sharing together. The kids shared about their experiences of the past week, their hurts (“rough & tumble” bruises, mosquito bites, and tummy aches), their needs (help in spelling), and their plans for the coming week.

Finally, a thank you to Kendall Courville for her help today!

We’re looking forward to next Sunday morning when we’ll re-join the cast and crew of “Entourage” as they clean up the lot after Tom & Skip’s “Bolivian flea” prank, and as we learn how “A Good Friend Cares for Others.” See you then!

-Joel Kulp.

Remember to learn this week's memory verse to say next Sunday in Pre-service. Romans 15:7 (NLT) "Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory."

A Good Friend Prays For Others!

One of my favorite things about NewLife Fellowship is that there are multiple avenues in which we can find and provide support. There's a reason they're called Lifeteams and Ministry Teams - we're in this together! I love the way we help each other out. And when I'm facing something that my teams can't physically help me with, I know I at least have others praying for me - and that's a big thing!

As a parent, I'm thankful that my kids are a part of something at NewLife, too. Each week in NewLife Kids we not only have a lesson, we pray for each other as well. And on Sunday that just happened to be our Main Point - A Good Friend Prays For Others!

This week I encourage you to talk to your kids & remind them to pray for others. Even better - pray for others with them! And in case they've forgotten, below are a few of our prayer requests from this week:

- Pray that God will heal all their wounds.
- Pray that God will protect them from those pesky animals that love to scratch them.
- Pray that God will provide the kids with the right friends. We want them all to have good friends & to have friendships in which they build each other up.

Once this week is over, please keep going! Kids need all the prayers they can get! And be assured, we're praying for your kids right along with you.

Andrea

By the way the memory verse is Romans 12:12.
"Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying." (NLT) Learn and say during Pre-service next Sunday to earn tickets.
