ELEMENTARY

Last Sunday the children learned that Jesus is the best friend they can have. We all search for that best friend that we can share everything with. Friends that are loyal, honest, selfless, and loving are hard to find. During your lifetime you may only be blessed with a few people like this, but of all the friends you will ever have, there is none that can offer you the kind of friendship that Jesus can offer. What is so awesome is that He wants to be our forever friend if we will just accept Him. He offers His love and friendship to all who believe in Him.

During the bible story we looked at Jesus' sacrifice for us from the Book of John. Our memory verse was John 15:13 "There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends." (NLT) Remember that if the children say their memory verses each Sunday during Pre-Service they will receive tickets that can be turned in for prizes.

Take time this week to learn more about our best friend Jesus.
*Jesus is loyal - Hebrews 13:5b NLT and Romans 8:31 NLT
*Jesus is honest & trustworthy - 2 Thessalonians 3:3 NLT & 2 Timothy 2:13 NLT
*Jesus is selfless - John 15:13 NLT
*Jesus is love - John 15:10 NLT and Romans 8:38-39 NLT

PRE-K AND TODDLERS

Last Sunday our Pre-K and Toddlers learned that they Should Learn About Jesus. The bible story told the children about Mary learning from Jesus (Luke 10:38-42). Take time and go over the handout that was sent home. This retells the bible story for the kids and it is never to early to share Jesus with your young children. I so enjoy watching them as we sing and talk about Jesus. They are little sponges ready to soak up what we are willing to teach them.

Remember the importance of having your child/ren in each and every service. NewLife Kids is designed in 8 weeks series that teach life long lessons.

Last Sunday in NewLife Kids the children learned that a good friend helps others. The bible story was about how Aaron and Hur helped Moses with a battle. (Exodus 17:8-13 NLT)

8 While the people of Israel were still at Rephidim, the warriors of Amalek attacked them. 9 Moses commanded Joshua, “Choose some men to go out and fight the army of Amalek for us. Tomorrow, I will stand at the top of the hill, holding the staff of God in my hand.”
10 So Joshua did what Moses had commanded and fought the army of Amalek. Meanwhile, Moses, Aaron, and Hur climbed to the top of a nearby hill. 11 As long as Moses held up the staff in his hand, the Israelites had the advantage. But whenever he dropped his hand, the Amalekites gained the advantage. 12 Moses’ arms soon became so tired he could no longer hold them up. So Aaron and Hur found a stone for him to sit on. Then they stood on each side of Moses, holding up his hands. So his hands held steady until sunset. 13 As a result, Joshua overwhelmed the army of Amalek in battle.

Take a few minutes this week with your child and talk about ways that they can help their friends. It is important that at an early age our children learn how to help others as they live their life. This practice will help make our children less selfish as they learn to look for ways to help others.

The memory verse for this week is Romans 15:2 "We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord." Help them hide God's word in their heart by learning the memory verse each week.

***Remember that we are giving out tickets for saying the momory verse and bring their bibles and friends with them to NewLife Kids.
