Last Sunday in NewLife Kids we talked about loyalty. We took time to help everyone understand that God wants us to be loyal to our friends and to live our lives showing kindness to everyone around us.
Lesson Goal: To help the children understand what loyalty is and understand that God wants us to be loyal.
Main Point: Heroes are Loyal!
Bible Story: Esther (Esther 2-7)
Bible Verse: Proverbs 3:3a (NLT)
"Never let loyalty and kindness leave you!"
Please take a few minutes this week with your child and talk about the lesson they learned this week. Maybe take turns reading the story of Easter in the bible. As a family learn the memory verse together and spend some time with the kids to reinforce what is taught in NewLife Kids. I guarantee that it will be worth your time.
Remember that next Sunday in NewLife Kids is our Back-To-School "Funday" Sunday.

Heros are Humble
Ever heard the statement that "pride comes before a fall"? Well last Sunday in NewLife kids our lesson revolved around pride being dangerous and making us think we are better than others. This kind of thinking has created problems in this world since the begining of time. So this week we taught the kids that a life lived in humility will be a happier life and more pleasing to God.
Lesson Goal: Children will learn that pride is dangerous because it makes us think too highly of ourselves.
Main Point: Heroes are Humble!
Bible Story: John the Baptist (John 1:19-27), Jesus washes the disciples' feet(John 13:1-15)
Bible Verse: Philippians 2:3
"Don't be selfish; don't try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves." (NLT)
Take a few minutes this week and go over the bible stories with your children and help them learn the memory verse, Philippians 2:3. By reinforcing the lessons that are taught during the week we give our kids an opportunity to learn to live a life pleasing to God.

Let the Children Come
Mark 10:14(NIV) says" ...let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these. "
Last week at NewLife Fellowship we held our Adventure Week Program. We took the week and used it to pour into the lives of children. Everything we did was to show in words and actions God's love to the kids attending each night. I was surrounded by a group of teens and adults that set themselves and their agendas aside for the week and unselfishly gave their time and talent to make a difference for eternity. They followed God's word. 2 Thessalonians 3:13(NLT) says "And as for you, dear brothers and sisters, never get tired of doing good."
It was exciting to see the smiling faces of the kids as they came in the door each night and were anxious to get started. I truly believe last week made a difference in lives, families, and homes.
This can only happen through an assortment of volunteers coming together each night with a desire to impact the lives of the children present. There is NO greater feeling than watching this happen. Whether through the dramas, songs, games or activities each night I saw the Lord's hand at work shaping and molding these precious children.
What is so amazing is that God also worked in the lives of the teen and the adult volunteers. Isn't that just like God? If we will lay down our life for others, He will raise us up to be more than we ever imagined.
Can't wait to do it all over again next year!!!
